In 1997 the youth of Sultan banded together and approached the City to provide land for a basketball court. The youth agreed to raise the money to build the court. After two years of raising funds throughout the community, a 64' X 90' basketball court was built. A portion of the project was WWRP funded--the lighting and surrounding amenities. This new application is to build a 72' X 96' all-weather arena-type cover for the court. This will provide year round play for Sultan's youth.

Location

From I-5 in Everett take the SR 2/Wenatchee exit. Follow SR 2 to Sultan (approximately 27 miles). When approaching Sultan, go through the traffic signal, over the bridge and take the first left on 3rd St. Go 1 block to the stop sign on Main Street and turn left again. Follow Main Street around the turn to the right and it turns into 1st St. Follow First St. to the stop sign on 1st and High. Osprey Park is on the left.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
