Secured 319.57 acres in the White Salmon Oak Natural Resources Conservation Area (a.k.a. Old Growth Oak) to protect representatives of plant community types that are quickly disappearing from Washington. Oregon white oak is dominant, mixed with areas of Douglas fir and Ponderosa pine, grasses, and scattered short shrubs. Popular and historic Weldon Wagon Road Trail traverses the site.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
