Nisqually Mashel - Phase 6

The area surrounding the confluence of the Mashel and Nisqually Rivers in Pierce County has been identified in the Nisqually River Management Plan as the prime site for a state park. This is the last in a series of phased acquisitions required to establish the land base for the park. Three separate parcels will fill in the last critical areas. These properties will provide sites for river access, day use, camping, and administrative facilities.

Location

Weyerhaeuser North site is adjacent to the south side of SR 7, 3.2 miles west of its intersection with SR 161 in Eatonville. Other sites are located off private, unmaintained roads. A guide with keys to gates is suggested.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
