Nisqually Mashel - Phase 5

The wooded area surrounding the confluence of the Mashel and Nisqually Rivers, near Eatonville in Pierce County, provides excellent scenic views and easy access for Puget Sound residents. This project is a continuation of Parks’ phased acquisition of the north side of the Masel River. When complete, the acquisitions will allow for development of a major destination park on the Mashel Prairie, providing individual and group camping, picnicking, river access sites, interpretive center, canyon preservation and protection of wildlife habitat in the area.
Location
In Pierce County, 1.5 miles west of Eatonville, off State Highway 7.

What is the WWRP?
The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
