The Mount Si Natural Resource Conservation Area (NRCA) is located east of Seattle, near the City of North Bend. This project seeks approximately 255 acres of inholdings to block up existing DNR ownership and help connect the NRCA and other natural areas in the Cascade Range. Mount Si offers a great diversity of habitats from old growth forest, to lakes, wetlands, and high cliffs. The site provides habitat for bear, mountain goat, cougar, peregrine falcon, as well as amphibians. The development portion of this project will enhance visitor use and safety, control access, construct a trail between the Little Si and Mt. Si systems, and develop a new trailhead facility.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
