Additional purchase of 845 acres of mule deer winter range in the Methow Valley, near Winthrop. The Methow Valley herd is Washington’s largest migratory deer herd, consisting of more than 20,000 animals. This project protects the critical migratory corridor for 65% of the herd and provides habitat for a variety of other wildlife species.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
