Methow Valley Trail System

Acquisition of easements, fee simple ownership, and development of a trail system between Winthrop and the old Cascade Crest Trail, with approximately 15 miles of the trail paralleling the Methow River. The trail is designed for year-round use: skiing, horse-back riding, hiking, and mountain bicycling. The trail system provides an important attraction supporting Methow Valley tourist businesses.
Location
Three primary trailheads are: Parking lot at the Red Barn in Winthrop. Parking Area at Sun Mountain Lodge. Parking Area at Rodeo Corral (Early Winters).

What is the WWRP?
The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
