This third phase request of a combination project begun in 1990 includes: acquisition of 18.51 acres of trail and parking area, surfacing about 7.1 miles of existing nonmotorized trail, additional parking including handicap access, bridge construction, and an upgrade to the aerial tram.

Location

The project location is a trail system extending between the Methow Valley communities of Winthrop and Mazama, in Okanogan County along the upper Methow River.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
