Marine Park Phase 4

Vancouver will use this grant to develop trails, picnic sites, a viewpoint and beach access at Marine Park on the Columbia River near downtown Vancouver. Marine Park covers 69 acres and is a primary destination on the 4-mile Columbia River Renaissance Trail. The park provides picnic tables, a shelter, open play meadow and children's play equipment but no access to and very limited views of the water. It is separated from the water by a wetland forest. With this grant, Vancouver will provide access to the water at the west end of the park. The project site includes nearly .3 mile of shoreline, a sandy beach that extends the full length of the site and extensive views of the river. Vancouver will contribute $108,306.

Drive east from downtown Vancouver on Columbia Way. Marine Park lies about 2.5 miles east of I-5 via Columbia Way.

What is the WWRP?
The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
