Linden Ave Neighborhood Park Acquisition

Status
Funded in 2002
WWRP Applicant: Seattle Parks & Rec Dept WWRP Category: Local Parks WWRP Grant: $200,000 Applicant Match: $350,000 Project Type: Acquisition County: King  Legislative District: 36th

The City of Seattle is proposing to acquire a 0.3 acre of undeveloped open space and develop it into a neighborhood park. The property, currently privately owned, is located in the Northwest District of Seattle and has been coveted by the Green Lake Community as a priority acquisition for over 10 years. The acquisition of this property is also identified in the Green Lake Neighborhood Plan and the City's Comprehensive Plan Update. Its acquisition will provide a much needed neighborhood park in an area of Seattle that is woefully deficient in open space and park resources. There is no small neighborhood park within the next 3/4 miles that residents can easily walk to. The Linden Ave site will directly address this need.

On I-5 take the 45th Street Exit, turn left, head north toward 45th street, turn left on 45th and head west until you run into Linden Avenue. Turn right and head north for another 22 blocks until you see North 67th Street. Property is on the corner of 67th north and Linden Avenue.
