Acquisition of 277 acres of wetland area near Marysville. The site, including a hardwood forest, completely encompasses 40-acre Lake Martha and has a sphagnum bog that supports growth of the few-flowered sedge -- a rare and sensitive plant species. Wildlife using the site include black bear, osprey, eagles, and the pileated woodpecker.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
