Klickitat Trail - Lyle to Klickitat

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission will use this grant to develop a trailhead on State Route 14 at Lyle and complete trail safety and surfacing improvements on 13 miles of trail from Lyle to Klickitat. These improvements are necessary to provide safe parking, to open an unsafe trestle, and to provide a safe trail. State Parks will contribute $824,565 in cash, materials, a federal grant, and donated labor, land, and materials.
Location
Take State Route 14 to the intersection with State Route 142 in Lyle. The trailhead will be located at the northwest corner of that intersection, developed trail will continue 13 miles north on the former railbed to the town of Klickitat.

What is the WWRP?
The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
