WWRP Applicant: Dept of Fish & Wildlife WWRP Category: Critical Habitat WWRP Grant: $608,002 Project Type: Acquisition County: Klickitat  Legislative District: 15th 

The Department of Fish and Wildlife will use this grant to purchase 540 acres near Swale Creek in Klickitat County. The property, when combined with three adjacent sites, will make up the largest steppe land under public ownership in the county. The property also will help to recover endangered and threatened species including the peregrine falcon, bald and golden eagles, and trout.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
