State Parks hopes to acquire key lands within and immediately adjacent to existing State Parks during the 1999-2001 biennium. If the opportunity to acquire these lands is lost, incompatible adjoining land uses, park management constraints, and park visitor conflicts may arise. Rapid and strategic inholding purchases will help State Parks plan for expansion through securing road or water access rights as well as park viewshed protection.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
