Acquisition of 92-acre Hat Island, which lies on the western edge of the Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. Bald eagles and peregrine falcon use the island for perching and feeding.

Located on the western edge of Padilla Bay, just outside the proposed boundary line for the Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. Saddlebag and Dot Islands to the north (1/4 Mile) are within the boundary and fall under State Parks mgmt.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
