Sprinker Skate Park

Pierce County Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to add an additional sports facility to the active portion of Sprinker Recreation Center. This grant will be used to construct a state of the art 25,000 square foot concrete skate park with both street and free form courses. The park will provide a separate skate area for those who are learning to skate. Bleachers will be provided for special skateboard events and contests. The park is designed to provide challenges for all skill levels ranging from beginners to professional. Recreation features included in the skate area are: a family activity area with shade structures, picnic tables and other seating, a barrier-free pathway, and bleachers for viewing contests. Landscaping will include grass mounding which will be made from the excess soil created by the cut and fill work. This mounding will give the park a sculptured effect. Safe access to the park will be provided from adjacent C Street and from the main parking area off Military Road.

from Olympia - frwy 5 north- to 512 turnoff - right on Pacific- several miles to Military road- turn right one block to Sprinker recreation center.

What is the WWRP?
The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
