Kennewick will use this grant to build a restroom, playground equipment, picnic shelter, walkways, trail, park furniture, utilities, and parking for a 25-acre, grassed neighborhood park. The acquisition and development of a park in this neighborhood was listed as the city's top park need. There is only one other 1/4-acre park in this neighborhood of more than 8,000 residents. The park was a result of an agreement with a developer building houses in the area. The city acquired 12 acres and the developer donated an additional 13 acres and graded the site, installed the irrigation system, and planted grass.

Enter on SR-240 and exit at Columbia Center Blvd. Proceed south past the mall. Shortley past the 4th Avenue signal the park will be on your right (west). The park site is accessed from W. 4th and from W. 10th Avenue.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
