The City of Olympia is seeking assistance for the acquisition and development of Friendly Grove Park, a proposed 15.8 acre neighborhood park designed to meet the needs of the fast growing community of northeast Olympia. The park site is located outside the current city limits, but within the urban growth boundary of Olympia. The city proposes to develop a mix of passive and active recreational opportunities. Proposed development includes: a combination restroom picnic shelter facility, a children’s play ground, basketball court, walking paths, parking, and a open play area large enough for neighborhood baseball and soccer games.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
