This project involves development of a 12-acre community park located in a heavily developed residential area near Vancouver's east city limits. The project site is adjacent to 30 acres owned by the Evergreen School District. New schools serving 1600 students are scheduled to open in the fall of 2001. This project includes a play court with three basketball hoops, two tennis courts, multi-purpose play fields, picnic tables, walking paths, benches, signing, landscaping, irrigation, and restrooms. The city and school district have fully coordinated facililty design. This school/park complex will provide the only developed community park facilities within a one-mile service area radius. Over 12,000 people currently live within the service area.

Drive east from downtown Vancouver on SR-14 to 164th Avenue. Drive north on 164th about 1.5 miles to 15th Street. Drive east on 15th Street to 192nd Avenue. Drive north on 192nd approximately 1/4 mile. Park site borders the east side of 192nd, north of Westridge Drive.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
