This project involves the phase 2 acquisition of Evergreen Fisheries Park located near the Columbia River in south-central Vancouver. The proposed acquisition is almost 10 acres and includes 2.5-acre East Biddle Lake, which is the largest in a series of five interconnected ponds. This acquisition will provide the land base for extended hiking trails, fishing piers, viewpoints, picnic sites, and interpretive signing. The project site is located immediately adjacent to the Columbia River Renaissance regional trail system that extends between Vancouver and Camas. The service area for Evergreen Fisheries Park encompasses the Vancouver Urban Growth Area, a population of over 230,000 people.

Drive east from Vancouver on Old Evergreen Highway. The project site is located 1/2 mile east of Ellsworth Road. Off-street parking is available at Vancouver Trout Hatchery.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
