Funding will be provided for phase one development of a 49-acre regional park at the site of the historic WDFW Vancouver Trout Hatchery, built by WPA crews in 1938/39. The property is located near the Columbia River in south-central Vancouver and will serve an urban area population of over 200,000. Improvements will include picnic tables and shelter, children’s play equipment, bike trails, parking and restrooms. Ponds located on the property will provide a unique opportunity for high-quality fishing opportunities for physically challenged youth and adults.

Evergreen Fisheries Park is located on the north side of the Old Evergreen Highway .5 mile east of Ellsworth Road. The site includes the historic WDFW Vancouver Trout Hatchery.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
