WWRP Applicant: Enumclaw Parks & Rec Dept WWRP Category: Trails WWRP Grant: $127,500 Applicant Match: $153,000 Project Type: Development County: King  Legislative District: 31st

This project by the city of Enumclaw will develop the first section of a trail from State Highway 410 near Veterans Memorial Park south to the Enumclaw - King County boundary. This will start to link Enumclaw with the King County Regional Trail System and the Foothills Trail in Pierce County. The proposed trail will consist of a ten-foot wide asphalt path approximately one mile in length. The trail corridor includes an open section that provides great views of Mount Rainier and another section that is wooded, providing a more secluded park-like type of experience. This trail project will satisfy a tremendous need in the Enumclaw area. The City conducted a community survey during the development of the park plan in 1998 and trail development emerged as the top desire/need by the community. The City currently has no developed trails. The vision is to someday see Enumclaw and Buckley connected with this trail corridor.
