The property is bounded on two sides by the Hoypus Hill area of the park and offers a place for a trailhead with connections to existing trails. The Whidbey/Camano Land Trust and Island County will match the grant with $700,000 through the county’s conservation futures program.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
