State Parks will use this grant to redevelop the day-use area at Cornet Bay in Deception Pass State Park. Work will including adding a new restroom; converting a road into a trail; and adding picnic areas, interpretive signs, a kayak launch, a park shuttle bus shelter, a boat rinse-down station and a trash collection station. State Parks will contribute $177,463.

Location

Drive north on I-5 to exit 230, then travel 18 miles west on SR 20 toward Oak Harbor. Park entrance is on right, one mile south of Deception Pass Bridge. Turn left, and proceed down hill to Cornet Bay.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
