Cascadia Marine Trail

State Parks is seeking acquisition and development funds for water access sites as part of the Cascadia Marine Trail, a series of day and overnight use sites intended to support non-motorized boating in Puget Sound. Project sites on the Cacadia Marine Trail are typically accesssed only by canoe or kayak. This project is for the acquisition of 25 acres at Possession Point on the southern end of Whidbey Island and the development of 8 separate sites at various points along the trail. Each site development includes landing areas for canoes and kayaks, group campsites, information boards and composting toilets.
Location
The trail route extends from Olympia to the Canadian border in Puget Sound, Hood Canal, Rosario Strait and the Strait of Georgia.

What is the WWRP?
The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
