Cape Disappointment - Gateway Center

In 2004 the State Parks and Recreation Commission approved a master plan for Cape Disappointment State Park in Pacific County. A central component of the plan involved creating a visitor center near Ilwaco, called the Gateway Center. The center would serve as the visitor orientation site and house the park shuttle service and some administrative buildings. State Parks has found property and willing sellers. This grant will help purchase the property.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
