This project involves the Phase 2 acquisition of Camp Currie Regional Park located on Lacamas Lake and Lacamas Creek in southeast Clark County. The project site borders the Camas city limits and is located one mile east of Vancouver (population 230,000+). The project site covers 174 acres and includes almost one mile of shoreline. In addition, Lacamas Heritage Trail, an eight-mile, hike/bike trail, is located immediately west of the project site. The property will provide opportunities for fishing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, picnicking, open play, and other day-use, family-oriented activities. This project will complete acquisition of this top priority regional park.

Location

From Camas, drive north on SR-503. Turn left on Leadbetter Road on the north side of Lacamas Lake. An entrance road to Camp Currie is located at the intersection of Leadbetter Road and 232nd Avenue.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
