Bonlie Development Rights Acquisition

Status
Funded in 2007
WWRP Applicant: King County WWRP Category: Farmland Preservation WWRP Grant: $314,800 Applicant Match: $314,800 Project Type: Acquisition County: King  Legislative District: 45th

King County will use this grant to purchase the development rights on 118 acres of the Bonlie property to permanently preserve it as farmland. This property has high quality agricultural soil and is used for a family dairy. In addition to preserving the irreplaceable agricultural soil, purchasing the development rights will increase the likelihood that the property stays in agricultural production, as it will help to keep it both affordable and available for farming. King County will contribute $314,800 from voter-approved bonds, conservation futures, and a federal grant.

RCO Project Number: 06-1917
