Birchwood Neighborhood Park

This project acquires and develops 4.8 acres for a neighborhood park to serve a residential area that currently has few park amenities. The site is located on a neighborhood trail that is part of a proposed major multi-use trail and will feature a playground, picnic facilities, restroom, basketball court, open turf area, and off street parking. The neighborhood association received a federal community development grant of $50,000 which has bee committed to this project as a partial match.
Location
Take the Northwest Ave. exit off I-5 coming from the south. Curve immediately left, turn left at the stop sign onto Northwest Ave. At intersection with Birchwood turn right and veer left immediately onto Cedarwood Ave. Property is in the middle of the first block, on Cedarwood before Firwood.

What is the WWRP?
The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
