State Parks will use this grant to buy 2.5 acres across the highway from the entrance of Belfair State Park. The property has a convenience store, laundry hookups, a 26-spot recreational vehicle (RV) park, and restroom. State Parks will use the property for an RV campground, office space, a concessionaire, and a group camp. Belfair State Park is a 63-acre park with nearly 200 camping sites along Hood Canal and Little Mission and Big Mission Creeks. It is noted for its saltwater tide flats, wetlands with wind-blown beach grasses, and areas for beach walking and swimming.

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
