This project will acquire 8,500-acre Schlee Ranch comprised of salmonid bearing streams, riparian buffers, and steppe habitat located within the Asotin Creek Watershed. This property is rich in priority species (steelhead, bull trout, Chinook salmon, bald eagle, elk, mule deer) and priority habitats (riverine, riparian, wetlands, steppe, caves, and talus slopes). Bordered on three sides by public lands, the project provides critical connectivity to fish and wildlife habitats on adjoining public lands.

George Creek Parcel: from Asotin travel SW on the Asotin Creek Road and then the Cloverland Road approximately 8.5 miles. Property lies south of the road. What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
