This eight-acre acquisition protects a sandspit along with uplands and three parcels of private tidelands located on Skagit Bay. It will be used as a passive public park for outdoor activities such as shellfish harvesting and fishing.

Drive north on I-5 to Exit 230, then travel 18 miles West on SR 20 toward Oak Harbor. Turn Left on Troxell Road. Stay on Troxell Road to Koontz Road, then left on Jones Road to access to spit road (Geck Road).

What is the WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
