WWRP Applicant: State Parks WWRP Category: State Parks WWRP Grant: $1,200,000 Project Type: Acquisition County: Pacific  Legislative District: 19th

State Parks will use this grant to buy 18 acres, including 870 feet of ocean waterfront, to protect the Seaview dunes on the Long Beach Peninsula. Local zoning of the Seaview dunes is allowing a handful of sites to be developed as homes. An inter-governmental planning effort is underway involving the federal Corps of Engineers, the state Department of Ecology, Pacific County, landowners, and community organizations, to identify property that needs to be acquired to retain this valuable landscape, protect important wetlands via local regulations, and compensate landowners.

What is the WWRP?
