LWCF: Stateside Grant Program

Description of the LWCF Stateside grant program in Washington with project list.

Administered through the Recreation and Conservation Office, the LWCF Stateside grant program funds locally supported projects to provide close-to-home recreational opportunities to all Americans. These projects range from local parks to state land acquisitions. They help keep our children healthy and support our economy by funding the development of trails, ball field, boat launches, camping grounds etc. Contributing direct benefits to local communities, the LWCF stateside grant program also acts as matching funds for other grants like the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program.

Sixteen projects have been proposed for funding through the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) in Fiscal Year 2013.

These projects depend on funding from Congress and the benefit they bring our communities is at risk - please send a letter or call your Senators and Representative today to urge them to fund LWCF!

Coalition thanks House capital budget committee

The Coalition has purchased ads thanking all 11 committee members for their vote to dedicate $70 million in the capital construction budget to the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program, funding nearly 100 grassroots projects in communities across the state. State Senators cherry pick projects, ignore WWRP rankings

The State Senate's proposed budget slashes Washington Wildlife & Recreation Program funding to almost half of what Governor Inslee recommended while favoring poorly ranked projects over highly ranked ones. The WWRP's independent ranking system is the key to its years of success, ensuring only the best projects get funded. Take action & urge your legislators to restore full funding today!

LWCF full funding bill reintroduced

Sens. Baucus (MT), Burr (NC), and Wyden (OR) & 4 cosponsors have introduced a new bill, the “Land and Water Conservation Authorization and Funding Act of 2013,” to provide full, permanent and dedicated funding for LWCF. Please join us in asking Senators Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray to renew their support and once again co-sponsor the bill!
