The City of Bellevue received a $300,000 WWRP grant to develop a new outdoor skate plaza to complement its existing indoor skate park. The 12,000 square-foot plaza is lighted and skaters can experience street skating elements like curbs, rails and stairs. Following the ceremony there will be skating demonstrations and a contest. The WWRP grant leveraged matching funds from the King County Youth Sports Facility Grant and City of Bellevue Neighborhood Enhancement and Bellevue Youth Link programs.
