Wild Horse Wind and Solar Facility Tour

This auction package features a private tour for six people of Puget Sound Energy’s Wild Horse Wind and Solar Facility located on the foothills of the Cascade Mountains near Ellensburg, Washington.  The tour package includes a catered lunch at the Wild Horse Renewable Energy Visitor Center, and three bottles of Wild Horse wine from the Wild Horse Winery & Vineyards on California's Central Coast.  The Wild Horse Wind Facility is Puget Sound Energy's largest wind farm, consisting of 149 wind turbines that generate 273 megawatts of electrical power.  The Wild Horse solar array is the largest utility-scale solar demonstration project in the Pacific Northwest and provides for much of the facility’s on-site energy needs. Suggested timing of the trip for best success is in late November, December or January. The outing will be guided by Steve and WWRC Board Member John McGlenn. Lodging, meals and retrievers will be provided. Dinner options include grilled salmon and roast elk. Royal Bluffs Ranch has over 4000 acres in the Crab Creek drainage just upstream from Smyrna in central Washington. The ranch has a great variety of terrain including ponds, running water and fields. Skagit County Bird Watching Getaway - Donated by Karen & Ralph Munro

Enjoy a February a birding trip in the Skagit.  You will enjoy two nights at the Queen of the Valley Inn, voted the Best of Western Washington.  It's for Saturday and Sunday in Mi d-February.  On Saturday, go out with Martha Jordan, a trumpeter swan expert who has done much to preserve habitat and eliminate dangers (such as lead in ammunition used for hunting and target practice) for the trumpeters.  Join Karen & Ralph for dinner in La Conner and stay overnight there. On Sunday, go out on the flats with Bud Anderson, head of the Falcon Research Group, to see hawks, falcons and other raptors.  The trip ends at about 2 pm.
