Tell Congress to stand up for Parks and Wildlife!

Right now, a conference committee in Congress is deciding whether key funding for our parks, wildlife and working forests will be included in the federal transportation bill.

For 50 years, the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) has used offshore oil and gas royalties – NOT taxpayer dollars – to create local parks, boat launches and ball fields, protect clean water and wildlife habitat, provide access for hunting, fishing and recreation, and boost local economies by attracting tourists and enhancing our quality of life.

This year, state and local parks projects across Washington -- from the community pool in Chehalis to Point Defiance State Park and Mt Rainier National Park -- stand to gain from LWCF funding.

Please contact your Representative and Senators and urge them to support LWCF funding in the final transportation bill!

Already, investments from the LWCF have leveraged state, local, and private dollars to create local parks and trails like Fallen Leaf Lake Park in Camas, Mima Mounds State Park, the Burnt Bridge Trail in Vancouver and Klickitat Prairie Park in Mossyrock. These funds provide vital assistance to communities across Washington to create the open space and outdoor recreational opportunities that realtors say boost property values, or provide the hunting and fishing opportunities that sportsmen count on.

Please fight for Land and Water Conservation funding in the final transportation bill so that Washington residents can continue to access and enjoy our state's Great Outdoors. Thank you for your consideration and leadership on this issue for Washington.
