Natural Areas
The Coalition is currently asking the state legislature for $100 million for the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) in the capital construction budget.
WWRP funded Natural Areas include high
quality native ecosystems, unique plant or animal communities,
endangered or threatened species, rare geological features, or features
of scientific or educational value.
Since 1990, the Coalition has secured $69 million for state grants to protect 66 Natural Area projects in Washington State. Funding is provided for
acquisitions only.
Below are lists and a map of proposed and funded WWRP projects.
